Puri Jagannath Dham begins from Bhubaneswar, also known as Ekamra-kanan. From Bhubaneswar it goes up to Chandrabhaga (Konark), where the sungod is worshiped in the Surya mandir.
Puri is one of the Char Dham pilgrimages, as per the Hindu mythology that says a pilgrimage of Indian temples completes only after visiting Puri. One can reach the holy city through Puri Railway station or Bhubaneswar Airport or Bhubaneswar Railway station. Puri is situated 60 kilometres south of the state capital Bhubaneswar.
